Dr Ken Micklethwaite
Dr Micklethwaite is a Clinical Haematologist and a Blood and Marrow Stem Cell Transplant staff specialist at Westmead Hospital, with a particular focus on leukaemia and lymphoma. He is Medical Director of the Sydney Cellular Therapies Laboratory, the largest stem cell transplant and clinical cell and gene therapy facilities in NSW. He did a PhD in immune therapy of infections in the setting of stem cell transplant at Westmead Hospital and post-doctoral research in combining gene and cell therapy of infection and blood cancers at the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy, Houston Texas. His primary research interest is incorporating cell and gene therapy into the routine treatment of blood cancers. He is currently principal investigator on two chimeric antigen receptor T-cell clinical trials targeting leukaemia and lymphoma. He is chair of the Therapeutic Goods Administration Advisory Committee on Biologicals.
